Dear Participants,

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are delighted to extend our warmest welcome to each of you to the Basic Laparoscopic Surgery Course. Over the next two days, you will embark on a journey of learning and skill development in the exciting field of laparoscopic surgery.

Our comprehensive schedule has been thoughtfully designed t o provide you with the fundamental knowledge and practical experience needed to excel in laparoscopic procedures. Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to engage in lectures, hands-on training, live surgical observations, and interactive Q&A sessions.

1st day , we commence with an exploration of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, where you’ll witness this procedure performed in an animal model. This will be followed by informative lectures on basic laparoscopy, pneumoperitoneum, suturing, knot tying, and the step-by-step process of cholecystectomy. You’ll also have the chance to practice these techniques in our endotrainer session.

2nd day promises to be equally enriching, as we delve into laparoscopic appendectomy, again in an animal model. In the morning, we’ll cover topics such as ergonomic considerations in laparoscopy, the steps of appendectomy, and potential complications. The day will conclude with another hands-on endotrainer session and the unique opportunity to observe live surgeries at GEM Chennai.

We encourage you to actively participate, ask questions, and take full advantage of the wealth of knowledge and expertise shared by our distinguished faculty. This course is not only a chance to enhance your skills but also an opportunity to network with peers and mentors in the field. As you embark on this educational journey, remember that each skill you acquire brings you one step closer to becoming a proficient laparoscopic surgeon. We hope you find this course both informative and inspiring, and we look forward to witnessing your growth throughout this program. Once again, welcome to the Basic Laparoscopic Surgery Course, and let the learning begin!
